  • ‘For Me, HSE Is One Big Family’

    Parsa Farid Almasizadeh is the winner of the HSE Outstanding Alumni Award in the nomination ‘For Special Achievements in Career and Public Life among International Alumni of HSE University’. He was born and raised in Tehran and received his higher education in Russia. After completing his master’s degree at MIEM, he stayed on to work at HSE. He currently heads the Network and Systems Tools Unit at the HSE Office of Information Technology. Read more about Parsa Almasizadeh in this feature.

    Nicolas Lagios joined the International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF) at HSE University–Moscow as an assistant professor in 2025.   • Next-Generation Cardiology: AI, Genetics, and Personalised Medicine

    More than 400 specialists from Russia and other countries participated in the 'Genetics and the Heart' Congress hosted by HSE University. Experts discussed the latest advances in clinical and molecular cardiology, new approaches to managing rare diseases, challenges in genome editing, and the role of artificial intelligence in interpreting medical and genetic data. A central theme of the congress was the practical integration of genetic knowledge into routine clinical practice.

  • Students of HSE University–St Petersburg School of Art and Design Paint Transport of Indian Partner University

    Students of the School of Art and Design at HSE University–St Petersburg went on an art expedition to India together with Dean Mitya Kharshak and senior lecturer Ekaterina Filipenko. The delegation not only visited the partner university LPU and met local visual artists but also left their artistic mark on the campus territory. 

  • HSE University and Nauka Publishers Join Forces to Advance Science Communication and Creative Economy

    HSE University and Nauka Publishers have signed a cooperation agreement. Nauka Publishers, Russia’s oldest scientific publishing house, which will celebrate its 300th anniversary next year, is also one of the largest in the world. Under the agreement, the parties will work together to promote the results of HSE University’s research and to advance science communication.

  • Human Intuition Proves Stronger than Algorithms: Game Theory Tournament Held at HSE University in Perm

    Researchers from the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy (Perm) and the HSE Laboratory of Sports Studies, together with mathematician and science populariser Alexey Savvateev, organised a game theory tournament entitled ‘The Election Race.’ Participants competed both against one another and against artificial intelligence. For now, humans have managed to gain the upper hand and propose more effective strategies.

  • Third ‘International Academic Cooperation of HSE University’ Open Competition Launched

    Research structural units of HSE University planning to conduct joint research with foreign universities and research centres are invited to take part in the competition. Within the joint projects, scholars from HSE University and international organisations combine their efforts to address pressing scientific challenges, hold training seminars, and organise joint international events.

  • HSE to Launch Laboratories in Space Research and Nanoelectronics with One of India’s Top Universities

    Scientists from the HSE University and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) will carry out joint research in the storage, transmission, and processing of data in space systems. A second major project will be a laboratory for superconducting spintronics—a promising field in modern nanoelectronics.

  • HSE University Scholars Uncover E-Learning Preferences of Top Students

    HSE University experts have analysed students’ digital footprints and shown for the first time that final grades depend on one’s personal approach to an online course. Balanced students have proven to be more successful than those who follow a more traditional and practical approach. The findings from this study will help create a more adaptive and personalised educational system.
